Zeta Chapter History

The first informational  meeting was held on September 10, 1993 at the Student Services Building. The women of Sigma Lambda Gamma from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Delta Chapter were present to guide and help the 22 women establish Sigma Lambda Gamma at Illinois State University.

 

On October 12, 1993 the fourteen women that were left received colony status. The fourteen women were: Yesenia Aponte, Carolina Cabrera, Gloria Carbajal, Magnolia Esparza, Patricia Frausto, Elia Garcia, Carla Jaime, Maria Isabel Jaime, Lilly Ann Leon, Cindy Jeanette Nuño, Noemi Enid Ortiz, Elizabeth Esperanza Salgado, Elizabeth Zacarias, and Illeana Zamora. They were later inducted on October 30, 1993. 

 

The women were guided by their Educator, Annissa Kuki Aguilar. On March 16, 1994. the women were presented with their letters at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. 

 

On September 11, 1994, the women were initiated at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana by Annissa Kuki Aguilar, Danielle Landron, and Heather Rodriguez. The thirteen women that are recognized as the founding mothers of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority Zeta Chapter are: Carolina Cabrera, Gloria Carbajal, Magnolia Esparza, Elia Garcia, Patricia Frausto, Carla Jaime, Ileana Zamora, Maria Isabel Jaime, Lilly Ann Leon, Cindy Jeanette Nuño, Elizabeth Esparza Salgado, and Elizabeth Zacarias. 

Zeta Chapter Today

The UnfaZable Zeta Chapter currently has 13 members for the 2024-2025 school year ranging from our Chi Line to our recent Alpha Beta Line.
